I really enjoyed the idea behind this book; where it took place and ho w the people interacted. I don't think this reality is too far from our own. I'm not sure it's a book I would tell anyone that they need to read but if you would like to lass some time it does so I. an entertaining way.

Both too dystopian and too close to reality somehow? If I wanted to read poor prose, I'd just scroll Instagram for all the influences.

I disliked this book and had trouble finishing it. Dystopian novels are usually my jam. The author tried too hard to write funny (it wasn’t) satire. The lead character is obsessed with aging and his impending death and his young girlfriend is the product of the social media age, vapid, taken to the extreme. Their age, racial, and social differences are beaten to death. The way he writes about other cultures is condescending and questionable. The super sad true love story is that this could be a realistic possible future for the U.S., but it’s not even interesting to explore from this perspective.
