A sapphic romance spanning a few decades where childhood sweethearts get a second chance at their love after having separate families.

Before reading this, I fell in love with the cover and I did originally think it was going to be about 3 different love stories rather than one couple through their lives but I loved that it was that. This was an incredibly emotional story and the ending absolutely destroyed my soul. The illustrations were so beautiful too. I’d love to see more from these authors!

A cute premise and lovely art, but there’s something just missing? It’s  too much content for how short and also a lot of plot points are just sort of brushed over.

Bingo Love is a graphic novel with beautiful illustrations and great storytelling. I appreciated the historical + present day queer rep, therapy rep and the coming out later in life rep.

This the story of two black best friends (Mari and Hazel) who love each other in the 1960s, and whose families have very strict Christian views and don’t support two women being together. So instead, they both marry the men their families make them marry, and their lives unfold separately from there - until they reconnect fifty years later.

I’d recommend it to graphic novel fans. It’s a quick read that, while more surface level than some graphic novels I’ve read, still had the elements I look for in this genre with a unique type of relationship I haven’t seen much yet in queer books I’ve picked up.

CW: Homophobia, biphobia, divorce

love the artstyle and the characters/relationship were sweet - biggest gripe is the dialogue it didn’t feel like the way real people talk in a way that was a little too corny

This is a great read that gets into the complexities of navigating figuring out your sexuality, family expectations, and romantic love. Highly recommend this sweet and cozy LGBTQIA+ love story which doesn’t shy away from the tough stuff.

It’s a really cute story, although very fast paced. At times, it feels rushed. I didn’t like the parts of the book that were essentially ads for additional content. Instead of having a full and cohesive story, there are little bubbles like, “to find out so and so’s secret, read volume 2 at www.whatever.com”.

I really liked the concept but I just wish it was fleshed out more.
