The Bridgertons: Happily Ever After by Julia Quinn

I got the free sample of this book thinking it was an entire book dedicated to Violet finding love again after all her children had married. It isn't. It's a compilation of the second epilogues the author wrote for the main Bridgerton books with a novellettr about Violet at the end. Disappointed.

Finally Violet gets her novella and it was truly moving! I absolutely loved the second epilogues even though I've already read them all but it felt as if I was reading them for the first time!

3 and 1/2 stars. Not an earth-shattering read by any stretch, but it was fun to visit the Bridgerton clan again in all their squabbling glory :-) And it was interesting--if just a little sad--to learn more about the parents of this brood in Violet's own story.

Very demure, very cutesy end to the Bridgerton story.

This book is where everything comes together. The second epilogues of all the books. Here we know what happened after the marriage of the eight Bridgerton siblings. And oh, there is a novella about Violet Bridgerton, too (I love that woman).

They were good, some made me tear up (Gregory and Lucy, looking at you), some made me laugh (Pall Mall, anyone?). Francesca's made me raise my eyebrows so high in disbelief that they disappeared into my hairline and had to be pulled back down by force (Michael Stirling was the same heart-melting stuff, so that is some consolation). Eloise's story had a new twist in narration.

Overall, enjoyable.

But I really liked Violet's story. I loved Edmund and how they were in love with each other forever and ever. Even years after Edmund had passed away. if this is not true love, I don't know what is.

But above all, I am super duper happy that I finished the series successfully!! If only I figured out how to insert a gif in Goodreads, I'd have put a happy dance one here.

4 stars.

I didn't expect to cry while reading a Bridgerton book, but here we are.

I must confess that I liked all the short stories (even those of the Bridgerton books I didn't particularly enjoy), except for the second one; I couldn't care less about Anthony and Kate bickering about Pall Mall and I honestly don't understand why Quinn would include such a story in this collection.

I was going to give 4 stars, but the last two stories (Gregory's and Violet's) were so lovely and moving that I just had to give it 5 stars. A special mention to Amanda's POV because it was very soft and I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did.
