I thought I would love this book so much because it's nonfiction folklore, but the pacing of it felt slow. I guess I'm not that into history unless it's fun. Regardless, the book does what it says and it's very informative.

The format of short chapters on a variety of subjects is one that I really enjoy.
I felt that there was a good amount of details in each. I’ve researched this subject before and still there were things on topics I’d looked into that I hadn’t come across before.

I really enjoyed it and will probably read it again.

I picked this up on a whim but it just wasn't my kind of book. I think I was looking for something a bit more entertaining, while this felt a little bit to scholarly

Great Britain - and mostly England and Wales at that - not British Isles.
