Twisted little novella, enjoyed it. If you’re looking for love gone wrong, you found it.

After Collettes husband's mysterious death, she finds herself being investigated.

Another book I really enjoyed from Rayne Havoc. It started of messed up and just continued to increase. An extreme version of a domestic thriller. Short, fast paced, and gruesome.

Collette finds herself in a police investigation room after the mysterious death of her husband.

I'm slowly making my way through Rayne's backlist and really enjoying them! I'm quickly learning that if you want something gross, fast-paced and gruesome, you need to check out this author. This novella hooks you right from the first line. You are instantly drawn into this woman's life and must keep turning the pages to find out what compelled her to do what she did. It's weird to say, but you kind of root for Collette while reading.

i went into this one a little bit blind. i’d read the summary before i bought it but didn’t remember what it’d said when i started reading. i could’ve read the back, but i had every intention of being shocked.

and was i!

rayne is great at the hot disgusting stuff but she is also great at the evil disgusting stuff.

Collette married the love of her life: her high school english teacher. and they were happy, endlessly craving each other. until her husband, Matthew, was in a car accident. ultimately caused by her. they frequently videochatted during his drives home, usually for her to do sexy things for him to get him ready for her as soon as he got home. but this time, he was distracted, he plowed into a telephone pole and was rendered a paraplegic with no feeling from the chest down (somehow still able to use his arms which i’m still kind of confused about but i don’t know much about paralyzation). this turned him into a man Collette didn’t know and couldn’t deal with. he was mean, abusive, resentful of her. he beat her, and in return she hurt him where he couldn’t feel it. stabbing him in the back. literally. until one day she’d had enough, and made him pay for what he’d done to her.

i was very surprised and only slightly grossed out by what Collette did to her husband.
but i was more surprised at the way her husband changed after his accident. it was like day and night and he had definitely taken to the darker side.

all in all, a good quick read that i’m glad i invested in.
again, Rayne, you’re doing it right!
