This was a fast-paced, action packed, quick and easy read. I didn't enjoy this as much as his other book, but still good. The terrorism theme really isn't my jam.

"They’d both been in aviation their entire adult lives and they both knew the only thing you could always count on was that your crew had your back. Crew was family. And family didn’t turn on its own."

"In that final second, she heard Bill whisper to himself. “One hundred and forty-nine souls on board.”"

As a former flight attendant, this book hit me in a very unique way. When you become a flight attendant, you are put through quick and rigorous training, focusing entirely on safety. In this book, Jo makes a mention of how little you actually learn about service, and it's so true. I didn't know any service details until I started my first shift. The number one reason flight attendants are on flights is for safety.

Airline travel can often be a hassle, with increasing restrictions and rules, passengers are often left frustrated and annoyed. However this book is a stark reminder of the worst kind of humanity that unfortunately is still alive out there today.

Was this a thriller with lots of twists and turns that leaves you with whiplash? No, it was a thriller that leaves you with goosebumps and a racing heart because of how realistic and raw it was written. I have been that flight attendant who hears the emergency chimes and who recounts how many "souls" are on board an aircraft. And while my experiences pale in comparison to this fictional one, this book left lasting effects that will make everyone think what they would do in this kind of situation.

T.J. Newman delivers an emotional, in your face thriller that pulls from real life in a way that draws the reader in and never lets them go. I loved the multiple POV's, the tense, running out of time feeling that follows throughout the entire book and the raw glimpse at how different kind of people handle different kinds of situations. This is a stunning debut novel!

More like a 3.5/5 than a 4. The prose hardly knocked my socks off but Falling is relentlessly paced and absolutely never boring. Very easy to binge read and definitely a fun time. It just comes off as a little slight, maybe even derivative of a film like Red Eye. And the social commentary, especially at the very end, was pretty limp. Still, I’m eager to read Newman’s next one.

Worst part was the character named Big Daddy. Call him by his real name- so annoying on audio

Fast paced plot but not much else. Probably don’t read while on a plane.

The first part of the book was a solid 5 stars, but the second wasn't as good, especially  a long sequence involving Theo.
