I loved this book. Funny, soulful, sad - "One Day" follows the lives of Emma and Dexter as they meet, become friends and fall in love over the course of several years. Each chapter is told from what happens on July 15th from 1998 to the present day. It was so good, I finished in two days and if I didn't have to get up to go to work, it would have been one. A delightful book.

I enjoyed One Day, however, it was a little bit hard to get into.

This unconventional love story follows a man and a woman through twenty years of knowing each other, each chapter a new year on July 15. As the story goes on, more and more details are filled in and I found myself unable to put this down. The story felt like the type of drama you'd tune in to weekly to see if the fated main characters would ever find their way together. Sure, there were times where the characters seemed to drag on, and even get annoying and whiny but this was a great story from start to finish; the type that makes you wonder if there are some things that are just meant to work out in certain ways.

Felt like the ending was put in to just end the story. But overall an interesting story about growing up after graduation

DNF. 60 pages in and I failed to summon any kind of interest or emotional investment in either of the two main characters.

Dexter’s really got no redeeming qualities in the book.

Overhyped. I'm not that huge a fan of British books- a lot of time with two boorish - whiney people and a completely pointless death.

This is by far the most realistic and funny romance novel that i have ever read. I laughted, I cried, and I laughted some more. Not usaully the types of books that I enjoy reading but David Nicholls sure has his ways on keeping the reader into the book. FIVE STARS! One Day is most def a summer-must read!
