In this hilarious memoir, Katie Heaney shares her romantic history, or lack thereof - from her kindergarten crush to the last guy to break her heart. Anyone who's been single for a long time will deeply appreciate and relate to it.

Katie Heaney's book is okay (it's a fast read) and it chronicles her life struggling with herself and her attempts to be in relationships. Some of the attempts are humorous and some very painful but in the end she comes to a realization about herself. The reason for three stars a.) I can relate to the book, b.) I felt like there was a level of depth missing, c.) and I felt that the end was not satisfying.

I really enjoyed the majority of this book, but as the book continued I realized that there was no ultimate climax to the end of the book. It slightly disappointed me. It was as though she should have waited to finish the book or make up some crazy story at the end and say hey I was just tricking you.... hahaha I don’t know. I need more from the ending and I wanted more for her in life!

this is a super fun read about katie heaney's experience with crushes and dating. it's written in a very amusing, informal tone, kind of like reading someone's blog. even though i'm married, i have had my fair share of bizarre encounters with dudes, and some of my own behavior towards the opposite sex has been downright inexplicable, so i definitely identified with this.

i like that at the end it seems like she's going to make some big revelation about what she's learned from her experiences...and then the conclusion is more akin to "yeah, i don't know." i find that refreshing, if not remarkably deep.

A hilarious and relateable read, slow in the middle, but overall enjoyable. I met the author, Katie, at a launch party in NYC, and she was lovely. I wish her the best!

I got halfway through the book and googled her to see if she was married. Wish they would reprint this with her later memoir about coming out because that definitely would help this story feel complete in a way it doesn’t on its own. It was a fun light read though.

I loved this book so much. Throughout the entire book, I found myself thinking back to my own dating dilemmas. It was extremely refreshing to discover that I wasn't the only one who stood on the sidelines and watched all my friends have relationships.

I love Katie Heaney's work on The Hairpin, and while I was hoping for more Reading Between the Texts here, this was hilarious and utterly charming--and a quick, easy read. It was like reading the book equivalent of a wine-fueled girl's night in with a good friend. Now to release an entire book of Reading Between the Texts, please.
