Stevenson does a great job narrating the book and keeping it engaging. this (or the movie) should be required reading for getting a glimpse at the many ways that the justice system is set up to fail people.

This book is truly a masterpiece!

For my BIPOC people I would suggest you read this book in small sections. Some of the content can be super heavy and can take a toll on your mental health especially when you resonate with the stories through lived experience.

An absolutely heartbreaking, gut wrenching, but incredible read. This so so important. It’s difficult, upsetting, and eye opening. Truly a book about humanity and how we are all deserving of it, no matter our circumstances.

Wow! I had seen the movie that was based on this book, so I was pretty sure I would like the book, but I was amazed by how well thought out this book was! Bryan Stevenson presented all the details of each case in a way that was interesting and never boring. He explained things very well and cited his sources. Even though he has every right to be bitter, he isn’t. He gave so many people hope when there was none. I loved this book so much!
