Because it's better to die on your feet than live on your knees
I loved this book! I loved how well Dax and Cindel fit together. L.D. Rose's undeniable gift for creating strong unforgettable characters sent Vermilion Lies soaring to a 5 star read and one that I had a hard time putting down.
The book cover speaks volumes. Definitely tailored to fit the story and yummy as well. The visual and atmosphere of the scenes along the cold beach were my favorite. I can just picture turning around and seeing Dax on that boulder. Yea, definitely my favorite scene.
Vermilion Lies stands well on it's own and easy enough to follow along. But once you get a taste of The Order Of The Senary series you're going to want to know more about what happened with Blaze and Jon!

The books in L.D. Rose's Order of the Senary series just keep getting better and Vermillion Lies is the best one yet! Rose's writing sucked me in and had me on the edge of my seat all throughout Dax and Cindel's story. I love the way Rose combines romance, action, and the paranormal create Such an addictive story. The entire book is excellently paced and didn't have a single moment that felt slow. I highly recommend this series to fans of PNR. If you're not looking for a series, don't worry. Each book can be read as a stand-alone!

This is an addition to the overall arc of the books as well as an individual romance on it’s own.
This is a tough book to read, but all of L.D. Rose’s books are. They deal with situations that are very dark in nature in a fantasy place. The setting is post apocalyptic America where bad vampires rule. Humans are cattle and weaker vampires are slaves. When I say bad vampires, I mean really, really bad. Drugs, sex trade, pimping, all of it. Everyone’s worst nightmare.
Cindy has been around. She was a favored sex slave for a powerful vampire named Alek. Of course, being favored did give you soft boots for Christmas and a beating every day. She wanted to get away, but to where?
Dax is a Knight withing the Order of the Senary. The Knights take immense risks to try and same who they can. It’s a hard job and they have to play their part very low key so they aren’t killed themselves. It’s forbidden to have a relationship with a vampire while a Knight. Knights are supposed to kill them. Dax tries to stay cold, but there is something about Cindy that pulls him.
Needless to say, Cindy has to stay in hiding so she isn’t killed by the other Knights, by any of Alek’s possible spies or stolen to be sold. It’s a hell of a life. Then the adventure starts. Can Dax keep her safe? Can Cindy be of use to the Knights so she isn’t killed?
This is one of the darkest series I’ve read, but it is written very well. The circumstances that the characters are put through can be linked with real world happenings.

Addicted!
This book was fan-freakin-tastic. LD Rose has once again blown me away. I just love her style of writing. The pages come to life and draws you into the story. As with the other books in the series, we are taken on a fast paced ride as the Knights continue their fight against the leeches. It was exciting, intense and emotional. It was funny and sexy. It was amazing!

But the connection and chemistry between the two was undeniable and unstoppable. I absolutely loved their story; probably because I’m a sucker for a good enemies to lovers storyline

VERMILION LIES is book #3 in The Order of the Senary series. I suppose each book could be a standalone but reading the series in order really enhances the storyline.
Cindel, a vampiress in an apocalyptic world, is on the run from her brutal husband/sire. She's basically escaped one prison for another, though, since her new captor is her pimp. So when she meets a Knight of the Senary, Dax, she desperately convinces him to take her. Dax is a hybrid, part vampire, part...something else. He takes Cindel as a prisoner but he quickly learns that she's very different from the vamps he usually kills.
Being a huge fan of J.R. Ward's BDB series, it's sometimes hard for me to enjoy other vampire stories but I gotta say, I'm completely invested in this series! The Knights of the Senary are heroes, yes, but they're not without flaws. And I FLOVED Dax. He was absolutely everything that I adore in a main character: alpha (but not a jerk), strong, loyal, sexy, smart, funny. In other words, my heart was tripping all over the place for him! But Cindel was such a fabulous character, too. Her life was one disaster after another, heartbreak after heartbreak. Yet, she preserved, she grew confident and strong. In some ways, she almost seemed naive while in others, incredibly jaded. Then once Dax and Cindy came together, they were completely sure of each other, there was no back and forth which was awesome.
L.D. Rose created a spectacularly dark world ruled by vampires, one where humans are the prey. It's an intricate plot, written so well, I had to pry my eyes from the words just so I could get everyday things done! This series is simply outstanding and highly recommended. Told from dual POVs with a super sweet ending. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.

Vermilion Lies by L.D. Rose is the third book in The Order of the Senary series. This is a great series and I was glad to read this book as well. Dax is traveling in order to help his friends battle the incoming vampire forces. Little does he expect to meet Cindel, a vampiress who has fled her sire's possession. The attraction between them is undeniable but will that work into each of their goals.
I really enjoyed this book and it is filled with so much. There is something for everyone: romance, paranormal, action, and suspense. This kept me reading all night and I look forward to reading more in this series soon.

I just love this series. This book really had me hooked. The author has a refreshing writing style and I totally fell in love with the whole world that the author created. I really felt drawn into the world.
I really felt my emotions going through the motions as Cindy's character is making her get away in the beginning. I really like the chemistry between Cindy and Dax. The way that all the drama unfolds around them and builds really kept me glued to the pages. I felt as though I as right in the midst of the action. I will definitely will be reading more from this author and I hope that this series.

Vermilion Lies was an awesome read! I loved books 1 and 2 in the series so I was really looking forward to this one and it more than met my expectations! The author definitely took this series to another level with the writing in this book! I was gripped from the very first page, it just felt like non-stop action and I couldn’t turn the pages quick enough.
Dax and Cindel’s story was completely captivating! It was dark and raw and I honestly loved every second of it. There was this immense passion between the two of them and some undeniable chemistry! There were some great twists and turns that kept me glued to this story from beginning to end.
This book can be read as a standalone however I would recommend reading them in order.
As always I look forward to reading more from this author again in the future!

Wow! This is as much of a thrill ride as the last story. It starts off a bit slow as you get to the the two main character individually. But once they come together....hold onto your hat! It’s explosive! I literally couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen to this amazing couple next. Each is strong on their own and I loved seeing their characters grow. Cindel probably did the most as she saw what she had the potential to be.
It is lovely seeing all the boys and a few of their mates/wives again. As I have stated before I love hanging with these guys and listening to their camaraderie. We got to see Jon in action and I enjoyed Dax’s thoughts on it. (Very JJ...they don’t call him the Black Bullet for nothing) not to mention Blaze, Rome and new comer Kayne. Kayne is quite the guy! He has fun with everyone calling Dax “Frosty” and Cindel a special name as well. He always banters obnoxiously with all of the Senary boys. He seems to always put a smile on my face.
Another action packed story from this series.

Vermilion Lies by L. D. Rose is the third book in the The Order of the Senary Series. This story is one that took me for a wild ride. From the first page to the last page, I was engrossed in the story so much that i forgot about my surroundings. This story is a dark paranormal story with Cindel and Dax as the main characters in the story. They are both vampires who found each other. Sindel from an abusive vampire who rules New York and Dax who is there to help Cindel out of the situation she is in. Dax helps Cindel become a better vampire. Will Cindel and Dax plan work? Will there be romance in the relationship? You will have to read the book to find out about Cindel and Dax.
