This book was good, but the pacing was really slow.

I liked the writing style and all of the information about elephants. I learned a lot about elephant behavior, and I loved that a lot of the story took place at the zoo.

The characters in this book were good. I liked Jade and her brother Oliver. Their parents were terrible though. I couldn’t find anything redeeming about either of them. How their dad treated Oliver when it came to sports was terrible. Also, their mom was so immature and selfish in her actions.

Sebastian and Jade’s relationship was nice, but I felt like I didn’t actually get to see that much of it. They didn’t have any interactions for so much of the story, so by the time that they actually met, their story was completely rushed.

I felt bad for Sebastian and the situation he was in with his child.

Overall, the story was good but the pacing could’ve been better.
