Becky Chambers. I officially love everything she writes.  This book, like its predecessor, is a thoughtful, moderately-paced sci fi story, set in a beautiful, hopeful future world, after we nearly destroy ourselves but just manage to recover and rebuild. Also like the previous book, the last chapter feels like it was written just for me, and it's what I needed to read right now. How does she do it?

Being a person and navigating relationships and families and figuring out what you want and how to live your values is hard, even if you're a robot. This book is lovely and cozy and good lord I wish we lived in a world half as kind as the one in this book, but since we don't, all I can do is try to make the world I am in a bit more kind and this book is a kind of fuel to help do that.

Simple, sweet, and stunning. I would follow Dex and Mosscap to any town. This is a lovely short book I will be asking my library to purchase.
