Solid 3 for me on this I think. I was pitched it as a cute soft romance and uh that wasn’t what I got but it was good nonetheless. The plot was interesting, the lore was a little weird to get into and I almost put it down near the beginning but I enjoyed the story overall. I probably won’t read more in the series but this was pretty unique so I’m glad I did read it.

The writing was okay but I the author explaining the similes/ metaphors used and kinda took away the point of using them. Also it felt a bit rushed at parts like we went from oh they’re friends cool to oh now we’re instantly in love and idk I just woulda liked more buildup!

This was the first self-pubbed book I've read. It was fine, the writing voice felt stiff but I liked Nino and the concept. I'm not going to read the rest of the series though.

Pour one out for my last brain cell because I think I enjoyed this?

I’m not sure, the writing has some noticeable technical flaws - the author has a bad habit of over-explaining metaphors/similes which kinda defeats the point of them. The world building requires a decent amount of suspension of disbelief.

But once I got into the rhythm of the story, I found it hard to put down.
