Another beautiful and breathtaking book in the series. I am a grown adult with a crush on a cartoon of Hades, and I don’t know how to feel about that.

Come for the romance, stay for the art, the comedy, and the side-plot drama.

Lore Olympus is a Hades and Persephone retelling that was started on Webtoon and has evolved into volumes of graphic novels. This is a modern Hades and Persephone retelling.
In just two volumes, Rachel Smythe has made me fall in love with this series. I never read the original Webtoon though I had heard about it. I decided to read this as the volumes come out and I am immensely enjoying it. I cannot wait for the next volume to come out though I know it'll be awhile before it hits shelves.
I love Rachel Smythe's way of crafting her characters in a modern setting. Each character is so distinct from each other with both their speech but also their colors. I loved how she uses color to designate which character is who. It's interesting how it can be used as well to show that a character is on another character's mind or how their presence lingers behind.
Persephone is so innocent in this but I really love how we see her start to come out of her shell in this. She stands up for herself in this and it was such a great moment that made me so happy for her. I love seeing her start to grow and her personality flourish. I also loved that we got Hecate in this as she is one of my favorite goddesses in Greek myth. She's as much of a badass in this ass she is in actual myth. I also, of course, loved Hades. He's protective without being overbearing and he cares about Persephone that he puts her own well being over his own. I especially liked that, once he learned her age, he tried to do what's right by her.
I am so excited for the next volume of this to come out. I thought this one was so well done and I cannot wait for this series to continue!
