Very capturing collection of essays. Luiselli is a skilled writer, and her interesting techniques were noticable also in this non-fiction piece, which she made lucid in her way. But the stories were still anchored, serious and revealed a lot of information on American immigration politics and how it all is connected with global politics. It is really a disheartening read, but oh so important. I whish more people would read this book.

this book is just a political propaganda for any side but it isn’t tone deaf either. it tells the actual truth of what these so called “alien” child go through and that they are actually refugees not just immigrants.
