I love the way Wells writes the constructs/bots so much. ART is just as much of a delight as Murderbot. Watching Murderbot slowly become accustomed to freedom is so interesting.

I am loving this series & this is only the 2nd book. Each of them are very short but the writing is so good. I look forward to getting through the whole series.

Each of these books deal with their on story but they each push the ultimate story arch along. These books are obviously Sci-Fi but there is also an element of mystery to the ultimate story.

The title “The Murderbot Diaries” caught my attention & intrigued me enough to check out the first book. But if the title concerns you, let me explain that he is not an assassin robot. This is about an android who has hacked his programming & has freed himself from human control. However, there was an incident in his past where something happened with his programming & he supposedly killed the entire team he was to be protecting. However, someone wiped his memory of the incident so he doesn’t really remember what happened but the guilt of whatever happened lead him to name himself “Murderbot.” The overarching story is of him trying to figure out exactly what happened.

This autistic/socially awkward Murderbot has my heart! I am so into the series. This book was more character development than plot, in my opinion. I loved the relationship between Murderbot and ART. Murderbot choosing to trust ART and making the decision to protect their humans shows that they are becoming more of an independent entity.

The plot was a little lacking for me. It wasn't focus on a mystery like the 1st book. What happened in the mine didn't really satisfy me. However, the fight scenes as always were awesome!

I love all things murderbot and I enjoyed this full cast version. I do prefer the unabridged version though. If you have an auditory processing disorder, it can be difficult having the extra background noises.

The book is of high quality, and I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to peruse the remainder of its contents.
