Eh, it was fine, but I won't go in with the series.
It's a quick read with a HEA. But I am so confused by the Russian FMC... not knowing Russian? What?

I am blown away with how much I loved this book. The plot, the characters, the dialogue, hell even the little chihuahua all completely impressed me. There are some darker themes but it’s a morally neutral grey and Roman is SO HOT.

I love Roman and Ninas banter omg!!! Nina, is an artist who is blackmailed into marrying the head of the Russian mafia after her father embezzled 3 million dollars. Roman, is the leader of the Russian mob who is learning how to walk after an explosion that destroyed his knee. I love this book. I was kicking my feet and giggling the whole time. My only issue is the whole "Nina is like a sprite she's so small" thing. It's weird anytime an author does this and Nina is not an exception unfortunately. Otherwise the banter, plot, and conclusion were all awesome and it was a fun read overall.

I didn’t really like this book I felt like everything was rushed and just moving way to fast I had no connection or care for the characters there were times in the book we’re I would think to myself these characters don’t even seem really in love it don’t even feel like they have a connection I’d wish that this book moved some slower and that most scenes weren’t rushed through there were some scenes that just felt unnecessary I really wanted to like this book and I’m still gonna try and read the other books in this series and see how it is this book has no cheating and no love triangles it’s a happy ending with no cliffhangers this book has spice but the intimate scenes in this book were fast not even 10 seconds of reading and they were over some of the tropes are Forced Proximity, Age Gap and Enemies to Lovers which the enemies to lovers ain’t like a strong enemies to lovers it’s more of a dislike to lovers overall I rated this book a 2 stars⭐️⭐️😭

ೃ — Another recommendation from my bestfriend, and I loved this book so much! The story revolves around Roman, the Russian mafia boss. A failed assassination attempt has resulted in his knee being ruined and he's currently on a wheelchair and working through physical therapy to regain the ability to walk. Rumors start to spread that leads him needing a wife to distract his men from his lingering injury; and Nina, a badass painter, who needs to either marry Roman, or her father—who stole huge money from the Russians and lost it in a ponzi scheme—will be killed. As there arrangement begins, Nina must also be a very convincing actress as she role plays the Russian trophy wife.

First of all, I'm not sure if words are enough to describe how much I enjoyed this book. The plot, characters, and the banters were all perfect. It was surface-level writing, Neva Altaj did not focus mainly in describing the mafia stuff, but she still managed to do a great job in making sure that we would not forget that it's a mafia romance. Roman was not the usual mafia boss we read in other books—intimidating, dangerous, cold—he was just. . . him. And him showing his vulnerable side to Nina without hesitation made me admire him more. Plus, Nina was th character I didn't see coming. She's a total badass, and I loved it when she's not afraid in expressing her feelings. Their chemistry was so powerful, and it was so cute that they acted like they were in one team even thought they are just in an arranged marriage. Also, their height difference? Chef's kiss!

There's really a lot of things I adored in this book. There was no miscommunication and no push-pull in their relationship. Everything just went on smoothly, the main characters getting married for convenience to falling in love with each other. I am a fan of fast-paced and short dark romance, but I honestly wish that this book was longer. This is a perfect story for those who would like to get out of their reading slump.
