This was a miss, basically one big battle scene mostly of boring one on one battles.
Don't get me wrong, the author does battles very well but if the whole book only consists of battles it gets old very fast.

And with that, Gwynne’s 150 year epic of the Banished Lands comes to a conclusion in stunning fashion. All 7 books are 5 stars from me. It has been almost a decade since a fantasy series has so thoroughly enraptured me. Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys fantasy or wants to try it fantasy out. Thank you for the wonderful story, John!

Truth and Courage!

What can I really say about this book, other than it’s amazing? This ended the story of the banished lands perfectly in a way that I think only John Gwynne could do. He is a master at character work, combat, and just making boring things interesting. The Banished Lands truly hold some of my favorite characters, and I cannot wait to read everything John Gwynne writes in the future.
