Unlike most of my King first reads, I went into this knowing basically nothing about the story and I'm SO glad I did.
This is one of those books I would give my right hand to read for the first time again, except that: I expect re - reads will add to it rather than detract.
If you only ever read one Stephen King book, make it this one

SpoilerSuch a strong story. It was very sad, although not as much as I was expecting. I liked that John wanted to go, that he was at peace... The way Janice went was very sad.. And also Brad Dolan was a scary and horrible person. But there has to be a villain... It took me a long time to read this story, I think the original 6 books that came out were a good idea that separated the stories a little better, cause it felt very long.. But over all another masterpiece.

WOW! If I could leave it as that I would, WOW in so many contexts! If you've not seen the film you should do! I wonder if King cried when writing this because I sure as anything would have. From beginning to end there were bits that wanted me to bawl my eyes out.

King's descriptions throughout the book are amazing, he really does make you feel as if you are right there, everything is soo descriptive it's like a movie in your mind. Although I got to admit I found the book so much better then the film!

The characters are so believeable and as I said if you've seen the film prior to the book like me you may be able to picture the actors as the characters which gives the book a bit more ooomph as your able to concentrate on everything else.

Not something I usually pick up but was recommended! Defiantly through-provoking and profound. If you’re not into tragedy or unfortunate circumstances (which I normally don’t like to read) this may not be the book for you however, I don’t regret reading it in the slightest.
