I absolutely loved this book!! I was intrigued by Jason when he was getting to know his sister Auden, and I am so happy he got his own book! Jason is new to Bridgeland, using the Bridgeland police department as a stepping stone for the job he truly wants in the Detroit PD. Linden (Indy) got pregnant in high school, and with the help from her mom and her brother Damien she has been working two jobs, and getting her college degree to better her life for her and her son Holden. Jason happens to be Damien's hockey coach, and when Indy berates Jason for benching her brother we can see the sparks begin to fly. Jason and Indy do not have a smooth time of it, with Holden's dad popping back in the picture. I loved that the characters from the previous books are interconnected, and we get to see how their lives are progressing. This book made me laugh, and it also tugged my heartstrings. I can't wait to see what is next for this awesome series! Thank you, Sophia Henry, for another amazing book!

Interference

This is the first time I have read Sophia Henry's books. I am a big fan of hockey romance novels. If you don't like them, then this book is for you. I would not consider this to be a sports romance at all. However, it is a lovely story. I really enjoyed the characters. The storyline made for a fast read.
Note, I received an advance copy of this book in return for my honest review.

This was an extremely fun, entertaining, and a “perfect for summer” romance read.

I am a huge hockey fan so after reading the synopsis I knew I had to get my hands on this book. I also had some huge hopes for this book and my expectations were set pretty high. I am so glad it did NOT disappoint! While this was definitely not the best sports love story I’ve read, it was still very enjoyable.

Before reading Interference I had not read any books by Sophia Henry. Boy am I glad I decided to request this book and read it. It was heartwarming, heartbreaking, and at times I was laughing out loud.

I haven’t always been a fan of books that switch back and forth between POV’s but I am very glad this book did. It was a smooth transition between Linden (aka Indie) and Jason. The book often times it switched in the middle of the same scene which allowed you immediately get a look at what was happening from the perspective of the other main character. Being able to “get in the heads” of both characters made it much easier to connect with them. The chemistry that built up between these two characters each chapter made it a very fun read.

Even though I loved My favorite character was neither of the main characters. My favorite character was Holden, Indie’s three-year-old son. He was hilarious and had me laughing out loud. Holden did silly crazy things that only a three-year-old can get away with.

There are three main reasons why I couldn’t give this book 5 stars. The first being that I felt the ending was fairly predictable. The second being there were times during the story were it felt like extra scenes were added. These extra scenes felt as if they were to just add to the page count but weren’t exactly pertinent to the overall storyline. Lastly, I wanted hockey to play a bigger role in the story. It was how the characters met and was something that connected them so it would have been nice to see it as a larger role in the story.

I definitely wish I could have more Jason and Indie but more so, I want more Holden. I read this book as a stand-alone which was enjoyable but I will definitely be going back and reading the rest of this series, as well as its parent series, in the future.

A Few of My Favorite Quotes

“The entire goal is covered by a huge plank of wood, with a tiny rectangular cutout in the bottom center, just an inch or so taller and wider than the size of the puck. I mean, even Pavel Datsyuk might have a hard time making that shot. Notice I said might. He is the Magic Man and all.” –Jason

““Well, the beef brisket is a customer favorite, but I’d recommend the ribs. I mean, everyone loves a pig, right?” I cocked my head to the side, pleased with my joke.” –Indie

““I can’t believe you’re Anna. I thought all the girls wanted to be Elsa.””-Jason
““Elsa’s a bitch.””-Indie

Interference is the third book in the Pilots Hockey series. I really enjoyed the first two books in this series, especially Delayed Penalty. It was there that we were first introduced to Jason. I fell for him right from the start! He seemed so sweet and funny, and I was delighted to hear that he would be getting his own book.

For the most part, Interference was a quick, fast-paced read, and I found myself engaged in the events in the story. If I'm being completely honest, however, my biggest problem was the characters. I honestly didn't recognize Jason. He seemed like a completely different person than he was in the previous books. For instance, he seemed a lot less vulnerable and more edgy in Interference than he was before. I started to like him (again) towards the end, where I saw some glimpses of the "old Jason". With that said, I just didn't like Indie. I felt bad for her circumstances and I admired her drive to get an education in order to make a better life for her and her son. Nevertheless, when it came to her personality, she just came across as...kind of ...bitchy. Jason said she kept him on her toes, but I thought she was just rude and had a major attitude at times. I wanted more for Jason.

With that said, I will definitely be continuing the series. The next book is about my favorite character so far, and I cannot wait to get to know him better!

Police officer Jason Taylor sees Bridgeland PD as a stopping post in his career. To ease into life in a small town, Jason begins coaching a youth hockey team. He didn't expect to be sparring words with Linden Meadows because he benched her brother though. Jason can't seem to stay away from Linden though and even when he finds out she is a young single mom, he doesn't back off. However, the whole situation with Linden brings up insecurities for Jason and his own past being adopted. Can he let go of his fears or is he going to let them push the best thing that has ever happened to him away?

Wonderful read. I think I liked this story the best so far in the Pilots Hockey series. I thought Jason's family was a hoot. There is one part in the book that had me laughing pretty hard. Loved how Linden is portrayed, she is struggling and proud for a woman in her situation she could have chosen a different path because it was too hard, she didn't. Entertaining read.

I liked this book so much better than book two…but I agree with a couple other reviewers that this isn’t a hockey romance novel and the title is a bit puzzling. There are ties to the previous 2 books which I liked and there is mention of hockey but this is really a romance book, not a sports romance book.

I loved the characters in this book…Jason, Indie, Damien, Holden, Indie’s mom and Jason’s parents – which was a huge improvement from the last book.

Jason was thoughtful, sweet, caring and hot! And he’s a cop - can’t beat a man in uniform! Oh, and he used to play hockey and coaches now…so double win! He is a refreshing change for Indie who has not had the best of luck with men. I love their banter and Indie’s snark with Jason. Indie is a strong character that knows exactly how to make her life work, even though it didn’t go as planned. She’s a total badass and an awesome mom, sister and girlfriend.

I don’t know if there will be more to this series but I’d love to read a story about Luke! I guess we’ll just have to wait and see!

If you want a sweet, small town romance this is a great pick. Perfect for a beach read. Single mom with a total douche ex meets new-to-town hot cop. Add in an adorable 3 year old boy and you have a heartwarming read!

I am really enjoying this series!

You do have to overlook the fact that this installment has even less hockey in it than usual (Jason's a coach for high school age kids, though his brother's Landon from the second book, [b:Power Play|25614739|Power Play (Pilots Hockey, #2)|Sophia Henry|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1440481843s/25614739.jpg|45425886]). The characters go to a few hockey games, and watch at least one on TV, but the focus in this book is far more on the characters' non-hockey existence than Pilots hockey.

Fortunately, I liked Jason and Linden so much that it didn't really bother me. But consider yourself warned--if you're suffering from withdrawal symptoms because your team once again didn't even make it into the postseason, let alone into the Cup finals, this book isn't going to fill the void.

But if you're looking for a story about a strong female single mother protagonist and the really great guy she's dating? (Though he definitely tarnishes his halo toward the end...not only during their relationship black moment, but holy crap in the bar. I was not crazy about his behavior in the bar, no matter how much it was provoked. Fortunately, though, he's pretty awesome for about 95% of the book, including a great ending, so that makes it mostly better.) Then this could be the book for you.

I really liked Indie, and am totally in love with her little boy, Holden. I loved how she completely changed the focus of her life when she got pregnant with him at seventeen, and how her mother and younger brother rallied around to help her raise her son right. She's working two jobs and finishing up her college degree and is managing to raise a three-year-old who's not only adorable but has darn good manners and is just an all-around good kid. Can I say how much I loved that she made him add a "please" onto each of his requests? And that he remembered to do so after only one prompting?

Ah, fictional children...

I also loved how she got Jason to see his birth mother, who also got pregnant as a teenager, in a new light. He'd long resented the fact that he'd been "given up" at birth, even more so when he learned that his mother had kept Auden, his younger sister (and heroine of book one in the series, [b:Delayed Penalty|24683240|Delayed Penalty (Pilots Hockey, #1)|Sophia Henry|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1428892541s/24683240.jpg|44300767]), born four years later. Obviously, the topic of teen pregnancy was a hot button one for both of them, and I was so glad that Indie was able to help Jason to get over his hangup with him mom--essentially by taking him down a couple of pegs.

Indie is darn good at doing that to Jason, which was something the guy definitely needed every now and then. You know, just to keep him humble ;)

I so absolutely love Jason's adopted family, though. Especially his relationship with his mother--So. Awesome. They ways in which they all interact with each other, actually, makes for some really fun reading.

We did get to see the main characters from the first two books a bit--mostly because Jason's related to two of them--which was a lot of fun. If you haven't read the others, though, this one should work okay as a standalone. (Though things will "click" slightly better for you if you have read them, and one of Indie and Jason's lunch dates in particular will be even more awesome if you've at least read book 1. It's not necessary, but it will give the scene more meaning.)

I'm really hoping Ms. Henry has more from this series to come. I really enjoy her writing, though if she'd put a bit more hockey in her books, you wouldn't see me complaining.

An ARC was kindly provided to me via a RIRI group for New Adults

Okay starting off by saying that I loved the characters. You have linden which you will instantly love due to her never give up and can do attitude.
Jason "jack weed cop" is a sweet and loveable character that most women dream of. He's driven and loves kids but also carries baggage from his past.

This story is about their journey and how they battle through very normal or relatable life issues to pursue their love story.

It wasn't a bad read but it definitely didn't excite me as much as the synopsis did when I initially requested a copy for RIRI

This is the third book in the Pilot's Hockey series by Sophia Henry. I've read the other two and enjoyed those, so I really wanted to read this one. I'm also a big hockey fan and love stories that incorporate this sport into the story. This was a cute, short book by Henry that I enjoyed reading. It wasn't my favorite book, and the others in the series are better, but I still liked this one. I wish hockey had more of a role in this one and I feel like it's not really part of the Pilot's series since they're barely mentioned in here. I also wish the characters were developed a little more. We learned some interesting things about them, but they didn't capture me like some of her other characters have.

Despite all of this, I still thought this was a cute read and I'm glad I read it. I love romance stories and sometimes a quick read is exactly what I'm looking for. I do think people should read the others in this series first because they were better, but this is still a good read.
