I really enjoyed all three novellas, and the three stories were neither too complex nor too simple for the format. The biggest issue I have with George R.R. Martin’s writing in this world is the assumption that the reader knows the in-universe history. I need a little more exposition to catch onto historical context.

Would love to have more adventures with Dunc and Egg! These stories were very fun, the most lighthearted in the Song of Ice and Fire universe that I have read. Recommend to anyone who likes Game of Thrones or a good medieval knight tale.

Collection of short stories that give a peek into life in Westeros before the era of the original book series. Dunk and Egg are both entertaining characters with a plethora of flaws, but work off of each other to perfect those flaws. I hope dearly George R. R. Martin writes more stories about Dunk and Egg before the TV show.

If there is a book that can be both dark and lighthearted, sad and funny at the same time, this is the one.
Melancholic and romantic, it reminded me how much I love George R.R. Martin's crafted world and why I never really gave up hope on reading the next book of ASOIAF.

P.S. he never bought Sweetfoot back 😭😭😭
