There There is disjointed and difficult to follow, with more narrators than I could count and bouncing between different time periods at random. Tommy Orange's writing is unique, and his style alone makes this an interesting and sad read.

I didn't know what to expect coming into this book - I hadn't read a review but saw it in many book stores. It took me a while to get into the characters, but as the story became clearer I liked it more and more.

This book is devastating and beautiful and hopeless and hopeful. I don't know how to talk about it, really, except that I desperately want to be an ally in the struggle that has faced the indigenous people of the United States for the entirety of its existence and before.
Also, for those who are unsure about the current controversy of removing Laura Ingalls Wilder's name from the award...perhaps reading this would help clarify the need. I think maybe it is about making a statement of priorities; about saying, "We see you and we want to repair," and making a small, relatively-unimportant-in-the-grand-scheme-of-things gesture toward reparations.
