I didn't really expect to learn anything new reading Visualising the Beatles despite its promises. Seriously, a book full of infographics isn't going to have more information about The Fab Four than Mark Lewisohn's Tune In, which even only covers up to 1962. However, this book presents key facts in Beatles history in an interesting, different way than others I've seen. The infographics are well-designed, slick, and easy-to-read. And the point of infographics is to keep the information simple, which it does. If you're into infographics, The Beatles, and cool design, then this is the book for you.

One complaint: they used the word "infamous" to describe the concert atop the Apple Corps building. This is my pet peeve when people use the word "infamous" to describe things that are just "famous." For some reason, I read this mistake frequently in books about the Beatles and it drives me mad.

This is a nice gift for a Beatles fan, something to have on the coffee table when you're in the mood to browse infographics and brush up on your Beatles stats.
