I'm really surprised this one got published as it stands. An almost non-existent narrative, two-dimensional characters and embarrassingly awful jokes - for page after page after page. Definitely the weakest of TP's Discworld series I've read; I can only assume that by 1990 and number 10 in the series, TP could do no wrong in the eyes of his publisher as legions of fans were just buying them regardless. If you feel you have to read it for the sake of completion I'd advise borrowing it, as it's certainly not worth parting with your hard-earned cash.

Not my favorite disc world novel. It had its moments, but just not my favorite.

Ondanks dat ik er meer van had verwacht zat de humor nog altijd geweldig en had ik geen idee wat er ging gebeuren. Het boek had een veel hoger Lovecraft gehalte dan ik gedacht had. Discworld blijft op zich gewoon een unieke serie.
