An easy, quick sci-fi fantasy read. Kept me hooked.

I loved the first 3/4 of this book! It was fantastic! However, the last quarter just didn't work for me and I was really disappointed.

I liked the idea of a bunch of tenants trying to solve the mystery of the weird apartment building they share. Building weirdness is the best kind of weirdness. Unfortunately, the characters were ridiculously one-note (Everyman, Indian Tech Geek, Sassy Nudist, Older Guy, Married Lady, Younger Lady) and their sleuthing got tedious very fast. Badly written, juvenile and self-indulgent. Mystified by the good reviews.

If you are on Goodreads, chances are you are reading a book right now. Put it down. Buy this book and read it instead. That’s free advice and you can send me a message to thank me for it later. You’re welcome in advance. This book needs a sixth star.

I would think that a book with ties to the Cthulhu mythos and Nikola Tesla would be one of my favorite books read this year, but this was just missing something for me overall.

It's entertaining and definitely doesn't take itself too seriously! The end was a bit silly but hey, it kept me entertained on long tram rides to and from work, so no complaints!

Excellent story. Made me happy, sad, scared and laugh. Ray Porter is again excellent with his characters in the narration.
