I love a good satire, and this is, in some ways, a good satire. It's basically lord of the flies in suburbia, with middle-aged middle-class people instead of british schoolboys. My main sticking point is the title character. Mr Robinson is supposed to be a horrible person, and that comes across in many different scenes that fit the plot and tone, but the author also makes the main character (a teacher, mind you) a pedophile. All comedy, but especially satire, needs to punch up to be funny and thought-provoking. You can't satirize pedophilia, nor is its inclusion in this story making any sort of commentary beyond "pedophiles are bad people".
