Ok, I'm the only person who didn't love this book. I thought it was very good, but I hated the ending. Maybe I'm burned out on reading this type of story. I also hated the mother character, but hating characters isn't something that normally affects how I feel about a book.

Wow. What a book! I absolutely loved this novel and I’m so glad I picked it up. This is hope being told with a story won’t let you go until the end. I couldn’t stop reading it. The love that came without judgement from Zoey was so wonderful and everyone needs a best friend like that.
I cried at the end when she lit the candle for James to say goodbye. What a beautiful way to let go. I also loved Chris and in my mind they end up together in the end. A beautiful read!

Everything was so ridiculous and over the top. It did not seem grounded in reality and all the characters were completely flat.

I don't know what else to say other than: I cried through most of this book.

This is a really difficult read if you have any kind of complicated relationship with parental/guardian figures, but it could potentially be a little cathartic to see how a young girl/woman navigates growing into to herself and how she structures the relationships around her to protect her peace.

I found that this book portrays an accurate representation of "teen angst" and why teen girls react to the world they way they do, finding yourself, getting thrown into adulthood, managing complicated relationships, and the first steps of true independence.

I quite enjoyed this, especially the aspect of is-she-or-isn't she (crazy / an unreliable narrator / etc.). The end left a little to be desired, I thought - she let it dwindle too much to give her character a promising ending - but overall this was a fun book.
