Is it possible to hate a character so much? Reid you are an ignorant, no back bone, asshat. I’m still so pissed I read this whole damn book and he didn’t even change?? BOOOO.

Cassie was a badass woman who is not only independent, but smart, kind, and worked her ass off.

The writing in this book is not bad, but Reid’s character made me angry at every turn. I just can’t.

If it wasn't for the ending I would have given this something less, but glad it was good because it was messy. Love it when these guys fall right away for their partners and watching them struggle to make up to them when they mess up. Like yaaaas, grovel.

I adore the main character and I could envision her boutique perfectly down to its brick walls, and the representation and vibes with the friend groups was really positive. I would actually love to discuss this book with avid romance readers to parse what works, and what needed some adjusting, to make the romance aspect just a bit more believable.

I think the romance and the tension build up needed some work, and I agree with other reviews about the ending maybe not being earned. That was a huge betrayal Cassie had to get over, not to mention her constant having to remind Reed to consider her….in her own project… I didn’t feel like he really felt like it was actually hers even while they worked together —- even with calling her boss, etc. and later didn’t know that I felt he felt bad or grasped that he stole from her and her future opportunities; by the end I was a little upset they got back together, which defeats the purpose of the genre kind of in a way.

But I finished it, and enjoyed several major chunks overall, and didn’t DNF it, so win overall.
