The Rising Storm is a very good Star Wars book, sometimes a sequel wont live up to the original but that's not the case here. This book does such a good job at expanding upon the world and characters that originated with Light Of The Jedi, and I think this book thrives on being the middle of a trilogy. A big part of the goodness comes from some "side" characters from book 1 getting more of a story, and some of the original books ideas continuing to grow and come to fruition. There are amazing stand out characters, great writing, and an overall interesting part of the Star Wars universe being developed, I thoroughly enjoyed this.

Marc Thompson's audio performance elevated this book, but it had too much going on at once for my taste.
The villain was really cool and mysterious at first, but it's losing it's magic I think.
Not sure I'll continue the series, but who knows?

Okay, okay, okay. I may be more interested in the High Republic era after reading this book. Third time's a charm, I guess. I still wouldn't say I loved it, but I'm starting to like some of the characters. And it definitely kept me turning pages during the big set piece at the Republic Fair. But the ending—well, didn't see that coming. I'm not sure what to think. It seems like we're only just starting to find out what this whole thing is about. And that's pretty exciting. I do sometimes wish that these books could stand on their own a bit more, but who am I kidding? This is Star Wars.

Another Star Wars book that attempts to portray action and thus hampers the whole experience.  A continuation of characters and story line that will be satisfying, but not as fun as it could be.
