This is a short, sweet book about how to invest for Canadians. The most accessible book I have read so far in this topic, despite the fact that it's a little outdated in 2020.

A great starting point for the beginning Canadian DIY investor. Robertson explains banking and investing terms for the layperson. You finish the book feeling confident and ready to take the reins. I'll be using this book as a reference for years to come. He answered many questions I knew I had and even more that I didn't know I had yet.

It's actionable and to the point. It's short too - I've read it in two sessions.

I was already convinced of this investing strategy beforehand, so I was glad the author didn't spend much time arguing on why passive investing works. There's some of that, but not enough to annoy me - but probably not enough to convert any doubters as well.

After finishing, though, it's not easy to use as a reference for things like the names of the ETFs he recommends. These things are mixed with other content. I miss a "reference" section.

Also the sections on how to use Tangerine/TD/Questrade platforms are lacking, and shouldn't be on the book anyway. People can figure that on their own.
