I’m a little confused and not convinced this is over.
It was a great series, good idea and lots of plot twists!
But once they had left the farm, it was a bit ‘now what?’ The story continued to be amazing and tense though, with Goldy pond And when Yugo and Lucas died, I cried
but then it all started to have no real consequences. Like, suddenly we’re here and we know this and etc, and us as the reader is meant to go ‘oh yeah sure’ and ignore the whiplash of location changes and time skips. Like, it used to take 4 chapters to travel somewhere, and then they just arrive at the capital in 3 pages??
And this last volume was so rushed which confuses me cause the whole story was so drawn out. Why did it just stop, what was the story building too, this?
I had to check to see if there wasn’t another volume just because of the last panel made no sense to me……
I really enjoyed the idea that not everyone is black and white and how can we save everyone, with Mujika and that. But Leuvis……….. damn!.

I struggle with endings, but this one took the cake.

For the most part, I enjoyed this series. It had the bleak dystopian vibes that attracted me to Attack on Titan, but with fantasy elements and incredibly drawn demons.

The storytelling often grated on my nerves though because we'd get 20 pages of Emma motivating the kids with "we can do it!" pep talks, and 2 pages of actual plot and action. The series really could have been halved into 8 volumes.

As we hurtled toward the end I knew that there were only really 3 possible ways this story could end, and yet I was still disappointed by the execution. Everything is hurriedly shoe-horned into this final volume and it all feels super convenient.

And remember when Ray and Norman were actually important characters? That feels like a distant memory.....

Lindo final.

This series ripped my heart out and stomped on it a few times. I'd give the whole series 4 1/2 out of 5 stars!
