Wow I loved this. Dark and twisted and fun. A horror/mystery/coming of age tale set in Edwardian England. What an original idea. Idk how to describe it but it reminded me of books I used to read as a kid, and gave me the same feeling too. Atmospheric and adventurous with some historical fiction/fantasy thrown in. I’ve never read anything like it.

I really loved the concept of this book—local folk tales woven into a novel. I struggled with the narrator and at times, it dragged.

This book is unlike anything I have ever read before and that is a good thing! I got this one from my library because the premise sounded so unique...a young girl trapped in a ramshackle theater
