It was meh.
I was hooked at the beginning but the way she kept switching sides so confidently was so annoying and kind of embarrassing for her.
The reveal was also anti climatic and didn’t really fit. The whole explanation seemed a bit far fetched and what happened to the two characters seemed like an easy write off.
Also it was soo embarrassing when she asked Tim to stay in Josh’s life, i mean the nerveeeee!
I think the epilogue was interesting, it was definitely a smart way to tie it together but overall I was disappointed with how the story progressed.

I didn’t rate this? I’m usually a Freida Stan but this didn’t fit it for me.
This follows Brooke who is starting a new job as a nurse at a prison, where her ex boyfriend is because she got him convicted.
The story itself was fine, a bit slow and then the twist just wasn’t twisting?

Okay I know 3 sounds bad....BUT IT'S NOT. I love this author and just about everything she writes. This one just didn't wow me as much as others have.
I was a little annoyed with constantly trying to figure out if Shane or Tim was the real murderer. Brooke seemed very naive to me, which was super offsetting. Some plot twists still caught me off guard but I think figuring out who the murderer was before Brooke did ruined the book a little bit.
Nonetheless, still a fun read that kept me intrigued until the very end. Just wouldn't be my first pick of McFadden's books.
