Somewhat predictable until the final 2 hours, where the actual plot twists came out and revealed themselves. The main character pissed me off the entire book by ignoring her intuition about basically everything

WOW! just when you think you know how the book is going to end, there’s a new plot twist around the corner! I really enjoyed this book, the figuring out who did the crime was intense because she leads you to believe in one person and then the whole story changes! Definitely kept me on my toes the entire dead, up until the very final page.

Freida is QUICKLY becoming an auto buy author for me!
I'm only two books in and I'm already in love with her writing style. As soon as I started The Inmate, I was hooked. There was not a single moment that I was bored or felt like putting the book down.
From the very begging of this psychological thriller, I was enamored with the main character Brooke. Seeing the strength that she had and continues to have throughout the insane traumas she has faced was incredible. However, she made her fair share of mistakes. The biggest being keeping her connection to one of the inmates a secret. For the sake of keeping the mystery alive, that is all I will say. Once again, I did not for a second expect the ending that we got with this book and that is probably my favorite thing about Freida's writing. There is never a moment that you are left bored.

thank you, freida for getting me out of a reading slump with the most fucked up psychological thriller 👏 the fact that every review is talking about how dumb the MC was but I dont think I've ever felt so gaslit from a book before... so maybe I'm just as dumb lol

i was craving something fast paced and addictive, and while the plot was a little far fetched and wild, this did exactly what I needed it to - and the last line was so perfect, it made my jaw fall to the floor

"Two days ago… was Tim here that night? I can’t remember." Girl what you can't remember what happened TWO nights ago??

A lot of this didn't make sense and there were a few ^^ ridiculous details ^^ but the plot twist did get me ngl

I’ve finally read my first Frieda book and I really loved it! The plot twists just kept on rolling in, it was a great book, I’d say one of my favorites of the year. I’m now very much looking forward to reading more of this author’s books.
