The Sadboy Emperor Chronicles was a solid 400-page fantasy with clearly in-depth worldbuilding, 40 thousand characters, political shenanigans out the wazoo, and very little central stakes. It's really about this guy navigating being thrust into power and growing marginally less depressed. It's fine, though I'm a bit baffled by those who love it. 

Good narration by Kyle McCarley.
