This was adorable. Some parts got a little too science intense- hard to keep all the different NASA acronyms straight. But it wasn’t to bad to skim and get the gist of everything.
I laughed and gawked my way through this. I pumped my fist and rolled my eyes. All of it was a pretty enjoyable read.

I sped through this pretty quick. The whole thing kept my attention with spice, backstory, and storyline.

Cute story. It gets a little gritty into the spacey science stuff, but as a science nerd I loved that. The narrator was fun, but her “Texas” accent for a supporting character was a little rough. As someone from Texas it made me giggle when she talked, but that was kind of her character’s role anyway: to lighten the mood.

Space Junk is a fun contemporary romance between a NASA engineer and a mechanic. There are siblings and friends, past bad relationships intruding, and a lot of cool space and science stuff. I listened to the audiobook, which was well done with good narrators. It was an enjoyable time.

I loved this so much. I laughed the whole book long. I loved Jackie. I loved Flynn. I loved their romance. I loved the emotion. I really enjoyed this book. It wasn’t super deep, but it was so delightful.

This book was an easy read, and honestly, the most interesting aspect of it were the leads’ jobs. I liked having leads who were so passionate about their jobs (especially one with as cool a job as working at NASA) but also in each other’s interests. Beyond that, the book was fine. It had a messy cast of characters, none of which I really connected to, and the romance felt like it focused more on physical attraction than anything else at times. Despite this, I am a bit curious about the other books in this series because all the characters were introduced in this book, but I don’t know if I’ll actually get around to reading them. 🗣👥🌧

Talk about surprises! So, I'm scrolling through my FB feed and visiting the page of a fav author seeing what she's got going on. Typical FB crawl. So, she's posted this book and challenges us to read it, well, I'm a girl up for a good challenge, so it's on. Much to my delight, I've found a jewel of an author; Sara L. Hudson has written a hilarious and charming new series.
In Space Junk, we meet one of those heroines who you can't help but adore. She's cute, a genius, awkward, disarmingly kind, and utterly unaware of her effect on people. Plus, her name is boss, Jackie Darling Lee, who is enamored with all things about the Space Race of the early 1960s and a burning desire to be an astronaut. A little blackmail, a Texas bar, and her kind heart lead her to meet two new friends, Trish and Rose. Rose leads Jackie to Flynn (our hero), and then the fun commences. Along the way, we meet a hilarious cast of characters whose oneliners and antics keep the pace of novel bouncing along. Add in a couple of near-disasters with the International Space Station (our heroine saves the day as it should be), and we have blast-off on hugely satisfying read.
Space Junk is the first novel I have read by this author and holy smokes; I'm ready to read more of her stories. Unfortunately, I've got a wait until the next book in this series releases. So, get your geek on, grab your history of NASA, some muscle car knowledge, and jump on board for a cool space journey!

Well, this book was a surprise because I wasn't expecting to like this as much as I did. It was fun, sweet and sexy. A whip-smart woman meets a billionaire in disguise of a mechanic and sparks fly between them. Jackie was quirky and adorable while Flynn had been hurt before and didn't want to reveal his real identity at first. It gave off plenty of the "opposites attract" vibes because Jackie being described as a nerd was obviously so smart and knowledgeable while Flynn sometimes couldn't decipher what she rambled about but still listened to her and paid attention. Jackie & Flynn had great chemistry and this was overall a very cute and light read. The only complaint I have is that the conflict (OW drama) felt forced and came out of nowhere. Also the disaster that happened to Jackie's friend took almost two chapters to get resolved and I lost my interest after that part tbh. The epilogue was the saving grace though. I liked the side characters and the next book is going to be about Flynn's brother and Jackie's friend which I'm looking forward to.

I’ll start with what I enjoyed. I really liked the space aspect. I’m fascinated by space and NASA. I really enjoyed going to the NASA Kennedy Space Center when I was a kid so I was excited to pick this one up.

I also really enjoyed the characters themselves. An unapologetically nerdy woman, and a grumpy mechanic man with a soft spot.

The romance was decent, and the spice was pretty good as well.

I don’t understand, however, how they grew to fall for each other with a start like theirs, and that aspect didn’t quite make sense to me.

I also have this pet peeve with books. “Multiple personality disorder” is a term that hasn’t been used since the 1990’s and people have no idea what the disorder actually is clearly. It is a complex trauma disorder known as Dissociative Identity Disorder nowadays and it is not something that should be thrown around. It’s not funny. It’s not an accurate statement.

Overall, this was alright. I’ll probably pick up the next one.

Guide to my ratings:
5 stars: flawless, hard to put down
4 stars: it was really good and memorable
3 stars: it was good/okay
2 stars: no redeeming qualities and forgettable
1 star: horrible, had no idea what was going on, boring!!!
