Picked this up at the manga cafe and read it. Decent first volume. Gon seems like a cool guy. Pretty straightforward shonen protagonist trying to be the best Hunter like his dad. 

The hunter exam was interesting. I want to read more to see how that pans out! Leorio is okay, I'm more interested in Kurapika! 

Overall, a decent opening volume. Didn't grip me as hard as other manga, but would definitely read more.
