Much of this book takes place in the summer with Nate trying to get out of playing catch with, caddying for, and race training his dad. This also includes a section of time where Francis hypnotizes Nate so that he'll be neater. Of course, that doesn't last long.
This is also the book with the beginning of "Enslave the Mollusk," when Nate thinks about making money by forming a band.
