I skipped around and read parts of this book that were relevant to me at the time. I like it, I hope to come back to it one day and read the whole thing.

The importance and power of tracking your menstrual cycle is something I am so glad to see being discussed more widely but this book really missed the mark for me. Highly repetitive and far too focused on the idea of the process of menstruation being spiritual almost to the point of magic it failed to resonant with me at all. There are some practical tips and it is very encouraging and supportive in tone which is nice but overall I was very disappointed and couldn't imagine recommending this to anyone I know.

I'm a fertility awarenes educator, and I read this book because it is extremely popular in the community. The level of spirituality in this book is just a different side of the same coin of religion. The "masculine" and "feminine" theories in here feel reductive. The book is very "woo." They address people who have menstrual cycle struggles almost condescendingly with questions that suggest it could be in your head. Overall, very disappointing read. I'll admit I'm not their audience since I consider myself secular and not spiritual.

It is valuable to track your moods with your cycle and your symptoms. I think you can chart for health reasons without this book though. A solid fertility awareness class and a supportive community can fill that gap.

Although meant as a manual, the repetitive content was not helpful. The quotes did not add much. It could have been much shorter.
