I first heard about this in a presentation years ago. I remember loving it when I was reading it. It really lived up to its title

Well rounded characters. Exciting/scary adventures for some of the students. Not my favorite type of book but it was pretty good.

Creepy story about a creature who haunts children in a remote Candian town. Good to recommend to students who request scary stories.

Danny and his father have been moving from place to place since his mother died. Their newest stop is Harvest Cove, up in the Canadian Big Empty. Here Danny has made a few friends and a possible love interest. One night when walking home, a hideous and terrifying creature attacks Danny- leaving no marks but a small pin-prick sized, blue dot. Shortly after, the creature attacks Danny's friend Howie. The group of friends start listening to local legends and realize the Windigo is a real monster and it has been attacking and abducting teens in the area for decades! They come up with a plan to defeat the monster before it pulls them in to their final resting place. This book was a little too creepy for me, but I can definitely seen teens loving it. I'd recommend it for ages 14 and up.

A coming of age story snugly wrapped up in a creature feature.
