I’m glad the main couple worked through their miscommunication problems and got their HEA with their little family. Their son was the cutest thing about the book and loved how quick the mmc was to step up and be a father even though he lacked a proper father figure himself. Their family dynamic storylines within themselves and their friends and getting support from the school was a lovely addition to the story and showed that they weren’t alone in this.
I do have two critiques about the book though.
1. As sad as the SA/rape storyline was for Allie (the side character) especially with the rapist being the fmc’s stepdad, it’s a little weird how quickly it was mentioned then over after a few since it was basically used for than dramatic effect since we don’t get to see how this affects Allie (the actual victim here) and instead that storyline is used as the reason fmc moves out and goes NC with her shitty mom since the woman defends the stepdad which we later never really get any closure from other than the quick “he gets a lower sentence” conversation and isn’t brought up again.
2. I personally don’t like that it’s set in high school bc even if them being teen parents was a big part of the plot, it would’ve worked out better with them in a college setting. The fact that it takes place in hs just makes this book a bit off for me since the beginning is a sex scene of the mc’s when they’re minors (16) which easily could’ve been avoided had they at least been 18 yr old college freshman🤷🏻♀️ It would even makes more sense since the next story revolves around a couple with an age gap that are mentioned in this story with the girl being a hs freshman and the guy a hs senior about to turn 18 and she’s 14 (it’s a big deal since there are some scenes where you can clearly tell they’re into each other even though there’s nothing physical going on but it gives me the ick either way bc there is no reason for the age gap to be that big and him calling her jailbait🤢)

I love the whole found family vibe that this crew has going! It was great how everyone stepped in to help Emilio and Bibi with Luis, it taking a village and all that. I also love how hard Emilio fought to be a part of Luis’s life. Bonus points for wrapping up that lose thread from the first book as well.
