Fun, but not as much as others in the series. Also, I really did not like the ending.
Moderate: Child death, Suicidal thoughts, and Suicide attempt

As always, Mercy’s adventures are full throttle right to the very end. I really enjoyed this one, the fact that we got to see a lot more of Adam’s mental health in this one was really nice. I loved that we got to see more of Wulfe being the creepy little weirdo that he is. And of course, I loved getting more of Ben (honestly, if anything happened to Ben at this point in the series I think I would scream). Smoke Bitten is getting four out of five stars and I can’t wait to read the next one!

Twelve books in and the Mercy Thompson series continues to be something I savor when I need literary comfort food. The gang is all here, including some interesting appearances by vampires Stefan and Wulfe. And the ever creepy Underhill as well. In this installment Mercy faces off against a foe that can possess, and later assume the form, of its victims. There's also some friction between her and her mate, a relationship that has been rock solid for many books. I've set aside every other long series I was reading, but I'll be here for the next installment of Mercy.
