YIKES.
I knew right off the bat that I wasn't a fan of the writing style, but that was something that I was willing to overlook. However, I find these characters extremely unlikeable and bland all at the same time. The entire "conflict" of this story left a bad taste in my mouth as well... a family emergency is perfectly acceptable grounds to have been "ghosted"...

I love the enemies to lovers trope and this was no exception! I loved that it touched on more serious topics- CTE, work place harassment and I felt those topics made the characters seem more real by allowing them to deal with these in real ways. I really enjoyed the way the relationship developed, it seemed natural, if a little quick and I enjoyed the way Samson and Rhiannon worked together, rather than being rivals. A great romance read!
Moderate: Toxic relationship
Minor: Chronic illness, Death, and Dementia
