About damn time, but a good time at that. It’s frustratingly slow with getting you to a plot. The lead up, although enjoyable, took 270 pages of the 360 page book. It was still a great book though and a fairly enjoyable read!

Wow. Just… wow. This is a book that will stay on my mind for a very long time and has prompted many questions that I’m not even sure I want answered. There is so much depth and imagery and so many layers to the story that my review won’t do justice! I loved the prose (beautiful!), the characters, the setting, the pacing and a special shout-out to Manderley itself. Such a strange, surreal place.

I feel totally and utterly cheated. I've had this ebook on my shelf for a while now, and today I decided to finally read it. I finished the book in an hour and a half and felt it was too short, so I went to readinglength.com and saw at my reading speed it should've taken me 5 hours.

I got a fucking abridged version. I'm so angry at myself for not realizing sooner.

I read the book before watching Hitchcock's movies so I would get the full experience of du Maurier's writing, and I didn't get it. Goddammit.

I will have to read it all over again when I calm down.

This review has nothing of substance, I don't feel like I've read the book at all, I just had to rant somewhere.

Now the story is spoiled for me and I gained nothing.
