Read in Cat o'Nine tales.

Kits is the story of how Jane and Molly become friends. It's definitely a fan service piece, but it's one of my favorites in the collection and is super adorable.

Read as part of [b:Cat Tales|11082349|Cat Tales (Jane Yellowrock, #3.5)|Faith Hunter|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1302548544s/11082349.jpg|16003996] anthology.

So, we know that Molly's friendship is one of things Jane treasure the most in her life. But did you ever wonder how are these two notoriously secretive women used to hiding come to be best friends?
I did and it didn't surprise me that their secrets is what joined them in the first place.

Too short for me to rate it on basis that would give much credence to it, but it marks one of the most important events in Jane's life, even if it doesn't add to overall story.

KITS hits me in ALL the FEELS.

1. Beast and kits always plays havoc with my emotions. It's so fierce and so pure and so . . . single-minded. Nothing is more important than kits. *rubs fist over heart*

2. The birth of Molly and Jane's friendship:

I pulled on my socks and carried my boots into what was left of Molly’s house. We had tea. We shared secrets. Weirdly, Molly held my hand while we talked, as if protecting something fragile or sealing something precious. Even more weirdly, I let her. I think that, for the first time in my life, I had a real friend.

I may have cried. A lot.

I always liked this story! Sure, I like almost everything witchy, especially in this world, but this story goes so much deeper. It cements the relationship between Jane and Molly, and Jane and Angie, and Beast and Angie. It's a heartwarming story all around, and it makes me happy on so many levels!

Loved getting the history behind Jane and Molly, unlikely but best of friends.

Beast really is the star of this book! It really shows how Jane came to be such amazing friends with Molly but Beast is the heroine in this one. I would love to see more interactions between Beast/Jane and Molly's daughter in the future. I loved this tale my only complaint is it is too short.

The story of the event that changed Jane and Molly's relationship from a new, tentative friendship to an undying one.

When Molly doesn't shown up for her shift at her family's cafe, Jane feels compelled to check on her. She knows that something is terribly wrong even before she has reached Molly's house that has a dark magical cloud hovering over it.

SpoilerJane shifts to her cat and rushes into the house, to find Molly and her husband trying to contain the magic their powerful baby girl has manifested long before they were ready. Jane's cat helps calm the baby down, allowing Molly to bind her powers, neutralizing the danger.

Molly now knows Jane's secret, and she owes Jane her baby's life, and she vows her undying friendship and any help she can give as long as she can give it.

Short but very engaging story that gives an extra dimension to Jane and Molly's friendship - I am looking forward to reading more about them in future books.

The series continues with another short story, [b:Haints|20744870|Haints (Jane Yellowrock, #0.6)|Faith Hunter|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1391738367l/20744870._SX50_.jpg|40075853].
