felt like reading a really early version of the screenplay, elements of the dialogue are unchanged but overall i like the dialogue in the movie better cause i love anakin and this book made it a lot harder for me to ignore his flaws. also loved that there were some clone wars and legends references!

This adaptation was really good. There are a few differences from the movie. I don't know if this was artistic license or if Stover was working from the script. All these differences are pretty minor.

The style of the writing is interesting. We get all of these strange very poetic asides, at times the story is even written in 2nd person. It's weird and wild, but I thought that it worked quite well.

Unbelievably based. This book makes the movie seem like a great adaption of this book. Nothing tops the music and grandeur of the movies, but the characters, emotions, fluidity, and specificity of this book is incredible. Stover had absolutely no reason to make this run of the mill movie novelization so good. However, he made such an awesome adaptation that serves only to deepen the source material and even expand it to make it more coherent and clear. Also, the dialogue is significantly improved compared to the movie. In terms of Star Wars, it doesn’t get much better than this.

Pain. I loved it but that somehow managed to be even sadder than the movie.

"This story happened a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. It is already over. Nothing can be done to change it."

Between classes, a midterm, and student life, I finally got to read the Revenge of the Sith novelization. All I knew before going into this book, was that it was a sad book (duh, it's Revenge of the Sith). And it was. It probably has one of the best opening lines I've seen. And even though I have the movie memorized, every other page, I was thinking about the possibility that maybe this time, Anakin doesn't turn to the dark side. It's devastating. I loved the way this book was written and how emotion showed through the pages. You see the change that Anakin goes through. When R2 went, "Anakin doesn't talk to me anymore", I wanted to cry. It's heartbreaking.

"The dark is generous and it is patient and it always wins – but in the heart of its strength lies its weakness: one lone candle is enough to hold it back.
Love is more than a candle.
Love can ignite the stars."
