Talk about two people with bas timing all the time lol. Funny thing is timing didn’t have to do with them being in a relationship with someone else but more about their careers. What I loved most about Reese and Holden was how supportive they are of each other’s careers no matter if interferes. When it was finally their time there was another obstacle. Well it wasn’t an obstacle for long and they finally got what they’ve wanted for years. They were truly amazing and the secondary characters added to it. Great read!!

**I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.**

The Virgin Game Plan is the second installment in the Rules of Love series. It can be read as a stand alone but reads much better if read in the order that the author intended.

Reese first met Holden when she interviewed the up and coming baseball star for her podcast in college. They instantly hit it off and spent a fantastic day together. Holden has always considered Reese the one that got away. When they happen to run into each other again years later they want nothing more than to see if they still that spark until a curveball threatens what could be between.

I loved how this relationship played out. They were so passionate about each other and fought to make it work. This is a fantastic second chance romance!

Not all love stories get a second chance. Sometimes, all you get is that one shot, and if you miss out, love doesn't guarantee that you'll have an opportunity to take said shot again. In the case of Reese Fallon and Holden Kingsley, Fate thought they deserved that second shot nearly two years after they first met and spent one life-changing day together. But as is the case with even the greatest of romances, not everything comes easily to these two--not even their much-deserved happily-ever-after. But hey, Lauren Blakely makes it a fun ride getting there (but then, doesn't she always?!), and The Virgin Game Plan was a home run of a read. 4.5 stars!

Holden Kingsley is a “do everything on a schedule “ kind of guy. He’s a baseball player and he wants to be successful at what he does.

Reese Fallon, college student, still a virgin with her own sports podcast. Has just scored an interview with Holden Kingsley, and she is excited. She’s also attracted.

Lauren Blakely is a story teller or sure. Her characters have histories, and pasts, and they feel real and believable. Each story of hers that I read, makes me feel like these are people I could know. She writes with detail and clarity, which makes reading it an experience each time. I love these characters.

What are you waiting for? Go get this book and read it!

Book 2 in the Rules of Love series by Lauren Blakely is another cute rom-com.

Reece and Holden meet one day, falling quickly until she gets a job on the other side of the world. 2 long years go by, and neither of them has stopped thinking about that one night... Until they run into each other at an event. Sparks start to fly again until they learn her father is his new team manager.

Very low angst, insta-love with funny moments and banter.

The Virgin Game Plan
By: Lauren Blakely
Narrated by: Jason Clarke, Ava Erickson

If you are looking for a new book boyfriend, grab this book! Lauren Blakely gives us Holden! Swoon worthy, athletic, good looking, faithful, there is nothing about this man that you won't like! Holden and Reese meet when she interviews him for her podcast. There instant chemistry is palpable, but circumstances takes Reese away for several years to follow her career path. Now two years later, their paths cross again. The feelings are still there, but when they realize Holden's coach is Reese's father, things look bleak. He can't date her, right? In true Blakely fashion, we are transported into Holden and Reese's world, experiencing their ups and downs, and getting to know their friends and immersing us in romance. It's sweet and spicy and will win your heart.

Jason Clarke and Ava Erickson are the storytellers for us and the perfect match for these two. Clarke has that warmth in his voice that has me under his spell immediately. He plays the part of the focused athlete and switches easily into the romantic man. Erickson has a voice that aids in the innocence of Reese, and let's us in on all her firsts with the ideal voice. This book made my weekend fly by and my heart full.

The Virgin Game Plan by Lauren Blakely is book 2 of the Rules of Love series. This series is centered around the game of baseball. The love story of Holden and Reese is at the forefront of the story. You don’t have to understand or even like the game of baseball to love Holden and Reese. Lauren is the queen of between-the-sheets action in my game book. Let me just say that Holden and Reese sure set fire to the sheets and out of the sheets as well. The audio book is narrated by the very talented voices of Jason Clarke and Ava Erickson. Jason has a voice as deep and smooth as a fine whiskey. Ava is just as talented at bringing Reese’s passion for her family, career, best friend, and love of life to life. Whether you read the book or listen to the audio or both you will fall in love with Reese and Holden and maybe even the game of baseball.
I received an ARC and ALC in exchange for an honest review. *****
