This is the first Max Monroe book that I've read in quite some time, as I'd felt a shift in my enjoyment of their books - I must say, I was thoroughly pleased that I really enjoyed this book. It was a fun and flirty enemies to lovers book and I found it really easy to read and to like the characters. There were lots of laugh out loud moments and some sweet moments and sexy ones too. Would recommend.

This was my first Max Monroe and I can see why everyone loves them. It was super funny with low angst. For this one we get a forced proximity with Mack and Katy, who are two teachers - Katy is a Type A math teacher hates Mack the fun loving music teacher. They end up renting the same vacation rental where they are forced to live together for their vacation. Also, one bed on the way back! Once they get back from spring break they have to decide to keep going as just coworkers or more.
Katy is going to rum some people the wrong way as you don’t really get why she hates Mack so much. Mack is the big golden retriever MMC that you will love. This one we also get a side of lol moments thanks to kids and side teachers. This was a great intro into these authors and also a fun need for a laugh book!

The authors tell you to keep seating while reading because it's a ride, and it really is!

I laughed out loud so many times while reading I was shocked!

This book is full of fantastic banter between Kate and Mack. It has some of the best tropes, and that I honestly love, enemies to lovers, close proximity, opposite attracts, and honestly some of the best scenes I've ever read. The hospital scene was my favourite, I laughed so hard I was crying.

These two though, couldn't be more different, Mack is a carefree music teacher, who saves girls in his phone book as the place where he meets them, since he meets many of them. And of course Kate, type A who never strays from the path she set for herself, hates him. Did I mention they work together and Mack is charming to everyone and Kate hates him also because of this? Because in her eyes, things are easy for him thanks to his smile and his dimples.

They acidentally end up in the same rental on spring break and Kate starts to understand that Mack is not so bad after all, and that his charm and kidness are not manifactured to get things in life, but he is actually a kind and charming person always trying to help people.

Thank you netgalley and max monroe for the opportunity to read this book!

Florida!!! Dun-dun-dun-dun-dun! IYKYK 😆 That’s what was playing in my head for the majority of this book.

While it’s not my favorite Max Monroe book, it’s still pretty great and I enjoyed it more than I expected to. I love the witty banter and the way Mack takes care of Katy when she gets injured. I didn’t love the end and the moments when they took the humorous bits a little too far.

Overall, I recommend this book if you want a low-angst, funny and steamy summer read.

AUDIOBOOK REVIEW: I love the trope of uptight vs. super relaxed, and these characters really fit that. While major plot points were predictable, they were enjoyable nonetheless. The FMC’s tense character made sense with her background, and the clash with the MMC resonated–I’d feel the same way in her shoes. And much would have been improved if she had worn water shoes!

The worst part of the audiobook was the odd spacing between chapters. For the life of me I cannot figure out why there was a pregnant pause between chapters. That spacing broke up the audiobook so much that it didn’t seem to flow and broke my mind out of the story.

It was a very light listen for good times at the beach…or the beach condo! And who says fun has to end when the vacation does…

Many thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own, and this review is freely given.

This one took me a while to finish because I’m in my audiobook era and didn’t have the audio for this one. But, I really enjoyed Katy & Mack’s story! I’ll say, I took my time to savor every moment. Haha! The banter & the nicknames were so fun! Frenemies to lovers. Forced proximity. One bed. Workplace romance. Romcom. All the things! Definitely recommend.

Really quick read. Real enemies to friends to lover story line. Liked the characters and the relationship they developed together.
