A decent biography of King's life, both personal and with writing.
If 'On Writing', didn't exist, this would receive a 5, but 'On Writing' is preferable as an autobiography and with additional more interesting information.
I found this biography contained too much filler with the breakdown of some of King's books.

Fairly solid chronological overview of King's career and books. Some great pictures too, though be warned if you're not well read in King some of the articles on the more major works contain spoilers. One to dip in and out of and would be an ideal Christmas present for a fan.

Ben Vincent’s Stephen King: A Complete Exploration of His Work, Life, and Influences is a brilliant companion to anything Stephen King related.
Although it is ‘complete’ it is concise enough to not be bogged down by theories and speculations. It is a chronological detailing of each of King’s creations, with insight into his influences and state of mind and body at the time. Intermingled with brilliant artwork, photos and engaging interludes and snippets.
It really is a great compilation, that should be on everyone’s coffee table ready for a brief peruse whenever the need arises.

I didn't think I needed this book when a friend pointed it out to me at the bookstore. Then I flipped through it and saw all the cool photographs and illustrations. So, it came home with me. I immediately started reading and was engrossed! Informative and enjoyable, this book taught me things I didn't know about King's life and art. Plus, it motivated me to put my King bookshelf in chronological-ish order. Fun!
