This is the third book in the Hope Island series and I have loved all three. I know that a lot of people sneer at chick lit type books, but for me they are mind clearing. I have recently read two serious books, and sometimes I just want to read a happy book. Holly Martin's books are always comforting and relaxing to read.

Eden is a successful business woman, and her family is near and dear to her. But her heart went to America with Dougie, although she never let him know. These were small characters in the previous books, so it's so cool to start reading about their thoughts and daily lives because you haven't paid them a lot of attention before.

Dougie is coming back to Hope Island to start another business with his buddy, although he keeps saying there is something else that brought him back.

Eden is thrilled but can't even entertain the idea that she might be what brought him back. Her self-esteem is so low that she actually believes that magic is what is bringing them together. She begins trying to "break the spell" because if she can't have him without magic, she doesn't want him at all. We really can be our own worst enemies!

First and foremost, I absolutely love Holly Martin's book, which meant that I had really high hopes for this one. Unfortunately however, I found that the plot was so very similar to two of her other books, almost as though she had a template story and then interchanges the names and details.

The story ended exactly how I expected the story to end, and although sometimes I enjoy the predictability and romance of books like this, on this occasion it was TOO predictable. Not only that, but Eden and Dougie, a likeable as they were as the main protagonists, also were far too sickly sweet. Dougie's approach to Eden was at times vomit-inducing! This isn't a story I could relate to for that reason alone.

I was even more put off about 70% of the way through when Eden's wish came true and a huge amount of money appeared in her bank account. It all became a bit fantastic at this point, which just resulted in a lot of eye-rolling from me! I think Holly's writing style is brilliant, and her books are so easy to get wrapped up in, but I had hoped for a different plot this time. Hopefully her next book will mix things up a bit.

(Thanks NetGalley for this copy).

It was cute. It was British. It was Christmasy. The author didn’t have to spend so much time driving home the facts of the past. By the second go, I was guessing exact lines from prior chapters. That being said, I tore through the book and it left me feeling festive, full of love, and fairy dust.

Another perfect Hallmark Christmas movie in a book to accompany the snow-globe im currently living in!

This book was about two life long friends recognizing their love for each other and doing something about it. It was perfectly predictable, but in a cozy, comforting way.

I definitely recommend spending a cold wintery afternoon with this book!

I received a digital ARC of this book through the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for my review.

Such a lovely Christmassy story, I must say that from the beginning I knew where it was going and I must say it wasn't a bad thing as the story is lovely.

If you're looking for an easy romantic story with lots of Christmas thrown in then this is perfect for you!

Im well underway with the holiday books and was gifted this one through a ROAK.
I've read quite a handful of Holly Martin's Christmas books and this one was my least favorite.

I found Eden & Dougie's characters quite boring & juvenile and I couldn't connect with them.
The idea the author was trying to portray of hope & dreams, I'm all for that but the wishing blow hole.. like come on.. how unrealistic. I personally do not believe in "magic", so that part of story was very hard to bypass and move on from.

Main character's names are very important to me when reading and "Dougie" as a main character name just didn't fit well in my opinion.

I feel like I've given this author a fair shot and I think i'll be taking a break from her work as I've yet to read anything higher than 3 stars.
